The
Organization
The
organization of Tenpin challenge was established in
December of 2003. One evening several bowler’s were
sitting around a table, discussing a way to raise
more money for toy’s, to buy for needy families to
give to their children for the holiday’s. Over the
last two years, two leagues of bowlers gathered toys
to give to local charities. This discussion was to
make it bigger by involving more people. With that
said, a tenpin challenge was made between two local
bowling establishments – Dover Bowl of Dover, NH and
Striker’s East of Raymond, NH.
Within twelve days, 20 bowlers bowled a “challenge”
and together collected more than $5,000 in toys.
Those toys were distributed through a local radio
station B-95.3 out of Portsmouth, NH. The radio
station had a collection going called “Kenny’s
Kid’s”, for the community action centers located in
Rockingham and Strafford counties in New Hampshire.
Along with York county in Maine. Many children
enjoyed a more pleasant Holiday because “Tenpin
Challenge” made a difference.
Our goal in the years to come is to continue to grow
the organization and to expand our services for
other times of needs to help families.
“Tenpin Challenge” – Bowling for a cause.
